The 180x200 bed frame is a large double bed measuring 180 cm wide—90 cm per sleeper—and 200 cm long, comfortably accommodating people up to 1m90 in height. It’s the natural choice for couples who want to maximize sleeping independence without opting for two separate beds, and for sleepers who move around a lot at night. It requires a bedroom of at least 12 to 14 m² to move comfortably around the bed. At Kipli, three models are available in the 180x200 size: the NOVA bed in PEFC-certified solid beech made in northern France, the LUCA storage bed in handcrafted okoumé from Turin, and the LIVIA platform bed in solid oak made in Haute-Marne.

It was designed by the French studio SCMP Design Office and manufactured in Haute-Marne, less than 100 km from the oak forests used in its production.

The LUCA storage bed (180x200) offers generous storage space that is easily accessible for everyday use. The bed is opened by two 1100-Newton hydraulic pistons manufactured in Germany, designed for effortless daily use. Important note regarding installation: The slatted frame is delivered fully assembled; please ensure your entryways are wide enough to accommodate it before delivery. The frame is made of solid okoumé wood, finished with vegetable wax and jojoba oil, and contains no VOCs or chemical adhesives.

QF1 solid oak, a top-grade solid wood with no visible knots, is a sturdy species that naturally withstands the test of time. For a 180x200 bed designed to accommodate two sleepers, it is a solid and durable choice. The LIVIA bed is manufactured in Haute-Marne, less than 100 km from the oak forests used to source the wood. It carries the Bois de France certification and is finished with a water-based, VOC-free varnish. Its 30 rigid beech slats provide firm, even support across the entire width. This is an investment designed to last for several generations—not just a slogan, but a testament to the material’s inherent qualities.

On a large 180x200 bed, the slats play an even more important role because the surface area is so large; they account for as much as 30 to 40% of the mattress’s perceived firmness. The NOVA beech bed offers two options: 16 rigid slats spaced 6 cm apart for firm support—ideal with a natural latex mattress—or 16 flexible slats for a more enveloping sleep experience. The LUCA storage bed is equipped with 15 flexible slats made of formaldehyde-free laminated okoumé, spaced 6 cm apart. The LIVIA bed features 30 rigid beech slats arranged in two rows of 15, spaced 7 cm apart, for even support across the entire width of the 180x200 bed.

Maintaining a 180x200 solid wood bed frame requires minimal effort—this is one of the advantages of these materials. For the LUCA storage bed made of okoumé: use a slightly damp cloth for everyday stains, or a diluted mixture of white vinegar and baking soda if necessary—avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the vegetable wax and jojoba oil. For the NOVA bed made of PEFC-certified beech: use only mild products—such as Marseille soap or black soap—applied with a clean cloth; avoid synthetic detergents, which could damage the natural, water-based, VOC-free finish. For the LIVIA bed made of QF1 solid oak: use a slightly damp sponge; you may also use wax or glass cleaner, but never use products containing silicone. In all cases, avoid harsh products.
