The materials used in our beds and slatted bed frames
We do not use engineered wood in the production of Kipli beds and slatted bed frames. The solid beech wood is sourced from PEFC-certified, sustainably managed forests in Normandy, located near our production site. By utilizing short supply chains and manufacturing 100% of our products in France, we reduce significant energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Our Choice of Wood
Unlike traditional designs, we were looking for a sturdy raw material to create a natural product. So we turned to beech, okoumé, and poplar to make our bed frames. Solid beech contains no engineered wood, allowing you to enjoy the pure scents and characteristics of natural wood in your home. The PEFC-certified solid beech we use ensures a finished product free of chemical treatments and VOCs (volatile organic compounds). To keep it as natural as possible, we use a water-based varnish. A natural oil gives it a darker finish.

Kipli offers an alternative in the bedding market, which is often opaque and harmful to both the environment and human health. In our workshops in Normandy, we draw on our craftsmanship and the purest traditions of woodworking. Our local manufacturing process prioritizes traditional assembly methods, which make our bed frames more durable.
Bed frames for adults and children. Which one will you choose?
The bed base accounts for 30% to 40% of the overall firmness of your sleeping surface. For nights that are as comfortable as they are natural, we offer flexible or fixed slats to provide support tailored to your preferences. Flexible slats provide a cozy sleeping surface, while fixed slats offer a firmer feel. The exposed slats allow for optimal breathability. With a timeless and elegant design, we present the NOVA bed, made in France and customizable with several options! Choose between flexible or rigid slats, different leg heights, and optional side tables and a headboard. Crafted from solid beech, this bed with a slatted base is exceptionally sturdy and built to last.To suit any decor style, the AVA slatted bed frame is available in two finishes: the light natural color of beech, protected by a clear water-based varnish, or a darker finish achieved through the application of natural oil. Does your bedroom need a more rustic decorative touch? The LUCA model, featuring a built-in solid okoumé slatted base, is crafted in our designer’s workshop according to the purest traditions of artisanal woodworking. In fact, it contains no screws or plastic parts. It is made to order in Italy and is not kept in stock. Its fixed slats ensure optimal support. As with all our bed bases, we’ve chosen natural and elegant materials to design the Tapissier slatted bed base. It’s upholstered with a beautiful French and Belgian linen fabric, woven in France. This bed features a poplar frame and slats. Thanks to this balance between sturdiness and lightness, elegance reaches its peak! The legs are universal, so you can swap them out for other legs if you’d like. Because children deserve a good night’s sleep too, we’ve designed a line of children’s beds made of solid wood that are safe and eco-friendly. A treehouse bed for the more adventurous, a single bed for the more well-behaved—let your children choose their own cozy nest , available in two sizes (70x140 and 90x190)! Thanks to its modular and adaptable design, this bed grows along with your child. Since it contains no toxic substances, the cabin bed emits no VOCs ( Volatile Organic Compounds) that contribute to indoor air pollution. If your child prefers a simpler bed without the cabin for their room, we also offer a children’s bed with fixed slats for a firm sleeping surface that provides ideal support for your child. Whether you choose the Tapissier bed base or any of our other models, the frame, legs, and other components are delivered as a kit.
