In a few words, can you explain what Smartsitting is all about?
Smartsitting is a childcare agency and creative babysitting services. Our wonderful babysitters—whom we call “smartsitters” —are dedicated to stimulating children’s learning after school, right at home. Smartsitting sessions are truly enriching and interactive experiences: through music, languages, dance, visual arts, and even theater, children discover a wealth of new things, all in a caring environment. In fact, we train every smartsitter in the Montessori method.
Are children taught about the environment through their activities?
Absolutely! Smartsitters are committed to helping children discover the world around them.Ecology and sustainable development are among the concepts that Smartsitters help children learn about. Through fun games and activities, they help children better understand these issues and how we can each do our part. For example, some Smartsitters have shared photos with us of activities focused on recycling. The children really enjoyed them.
In your opinion, do parents care about the materials used in the items that surround their children (toys, paint, bedding, etc.)?
By using Smartsitting, parents are choosing a childcare agency that elevates the status of the babysitting profession. This translates, for example, into higher pay compared to the industry average and personalized support throughout the contract. If these parents choose an“ethical babysitting agency,”it suggests that this approach is already deeply ingrained in their everyday consumption habits.
What does your ideal children's room look like?
The Montessori approach is at the heart of Smartsitting. That’s why the ideal child’s room should allow the child to be independent: to reach their toys, bed, or clothes on their own. The furniture should be tailored to the child: an accessible bed and a properly fitted mattress, such as the Kipli children’s mattress , for example. In addition, the room should be healthy, tidy, and respectful of the child and their environment.
Any tips to help new parents get their children to sleep?
