Maintenance & Treatment

Care: The wool filling in the mattress can be replaced after about ten years.

To maximize its lifespan and your comfort, flip your wool mattress every 3 months if possible. It’s also recommended to vacuum both sides once a year, paying special attention to the tufting and piping. Finally, keep in mind that after a few years, you’ll have the option to have it re-stuffed to give it a new lease on life.

Treatment: The wool mattress contains no chemical treatments that could be harmful to your health.

Setup: If your wool mattress seems too small when you unpack it, don’t worry—it was compressed during shipping and will quickly return to its original size. Simply flip it over (head to toe and front to back) every week for the first 3 weeks of use. Note that there may be a slight smell of organic wool when you open the package, but it will naturally disappear in less than two weeks.

The wool used to make the mattress core comes from a local farm located less than 100 km from the workshop. Virgin wool is a fine material renowned for its softness.
The ticking is made of French linen, which is neither treated nor dyed, giving it a touch of elegance thanks to its natural ecru color and timeless look.
