Born from the collaboration between Aline, an architect passionate about the world of design, and Maxime, an engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, Atelier Loupiote creates wooden light fixtures with a minimalist and innovative design. Recognizing that 95% of light fixtures are imported, their primary mission is simple: to place the relocalization of production at the heart of their project. Handcrafted in France using fine woods sourced from local sawmills, their light fixtures are not the result of chance but rather the outcome of ongoing efforts to bring French manufacturing back into the spotlight.
An approach and a mission that echo those of Kipli, with our production centered on showcasing French craftsmanship and excellence. It was therefore a natural step to explore the world of lighting alongside Atelier Loupiote and create a collaborative collection.
Rooted in the same human values, sound logistics, the use of high-quality materials such as French wood, and the passing down of timeless craftsmanship, our two worlds converge. Through a skillful blend of French artisanal craftsmanship and environmentally friendly materials, our two teams share the same minimalist and unique vision for the sustainable home of tomorrow.
Time-honored craftsmanship for unique creations
In designing the pieces for this collaboration, our two companies were, as always, driven by a desire to meet a real need. The central question during our teams’ discussions was therefore: What kind of light fixture makes lighting an essential decorative element that adds THE finishing touch to a natural interior?
This was a major challenge for this first foray into the world of decorative lighting. Juliette, a product designer at Kipli, worked closely with Maxime, co-founder of Atelier Loupiote, to create pieces that are perfect, natural, and timeless. Through sketches, discussions, prototypes, and refinements, the goal was to find a new approach to sculpting light and shadows to create warm, inviting atmospheres. This challenge was met after weeks of collaboration, resulting in a capsule collection of three unique pieces, all designed in wood and made in France.
Wood: A Noble and Locally Sourced Material
To create a product that is both beautiful, functional, and environmentally responsible, we have selected high-quality materials: fine-grained poplar wood (FSC/PEFC certified) sourced from forests in the Rhône-Alpes region, near the Atelier Loupiote facilities. It’s a material we particularly love, and one that helps create a warm, healthy, and sustainable atmosphere.
This choice of raw materials also presents Kipli and Atelier Loupiote with a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with French cabinetmakers, who possess expertise dating back several millennia. This ensures that you receive a product that is not only high-quality but also playful and unique.

We have designed three lighting fixtures that shape the interior through the interplay of light and shadow, creating a distinctive and harmonious effect. The handcrafted manufacturing process, using poplar wood slats, gives each piece a unique character and ensures high quality.
