Kipli: Fair Prices All Year Round

We’re often asked whywe don’t participate in salesorBlack Friday. Our answer: Because attractive discounts encourageexcessive consumption, which hasnegative consequences for the environment.Ourprices remain the sameall year round because we operate with low profit margins. This allows usto pay a fair wage toeveryone involvedin theproduction chain. For this reason,we cannot offer discounts. In the following article, we explain in more detail why.

What is a fair price?

A price is truly fair when theconsumer pays a fair price in relation to the product's qualityandwhen allworkers involved in production receive fair compensation.

At Kipli, we strive to offer our customers thebest value for their money.TheKipli natural latex mattress costs about half the price of a comparable-quality mattress in stores. As a result, the Kipli mattress is priced as close as possible to what our customers can afford.

We operate onlow margins because sourcing high-quality raw materials and processing them, as well as paying fair wages to all employees, involve high costs.

To calculate the selling price, we add the gross margin to the cost of production. This consists of fixed costs, taxes, and the profit (net margin) generated by the sale. At Kipli, the net margin on a mattress sold is 8%.

Why are fair prices a given for us?

In the face of new global challenges, we believe it is essential to advocate forbetter trade in a responsible and committed manner.Asyou know, there are still practices in global trade whose ethics can be called into question. In many companies, an exclusive focus on profits leads to poor working conditions and inhumane wages.

At Kipli, we believe that companies—regardless of their size or industry—have asocial and environmental responsibility.Settingfair prices is one way Kipli fulfills this responsibility and provides as many people as possible with access to sustainable products. Companies are constantly lowering their prices to attract consumers. This leadstounrealistic, dumping-level prices, which make it difficult for customers to compare and understand the offers.

What's really behind a price? How do brands manage to sell their products at the lowest prices? Kipli aims to raise awareness about the reasons why companies often compromise the quality of their products to maximize their profit margins.
